Making Backup Simple - An Appliance Approach to Implementing VMware Consolidated Backup

Presenter:

When deciding on the best practices to protect your virtual machines, you must consider your business requirements for data recovery. It's possible you may need to restore an individual file, file system or database. You may also need to rapidly restore the entire virtual machine in the event of a disaster; or you may want to easily move a virtual machine to a different host for resource load balancing.
This session will discuss the pros and cons of various methods for backing up and restoring VMware virtual machines and file systems. In particular, it will focus on the cost savings and ease of management that a turnkey appliance approach to implementing VMware Consolidated Backup (VCB) provides. We'll describe how the appliance provides all of the benefits of consolidated backup, addresses the requirements for implementing VCB, simplifies the technical challenges of integrating VCB with traditional backup products, and addresses data restore considerations in the VCB environment.
