This discussion will present some advanced VDI design options combining the best of streaming technologies such as application and OS streaming together with a very high performance use of ESX Server memory and networking features. The goal of the presentation is to demonstrate the possibilities of VDI beyond simple deployments. Topics will include network configuration of VDI machines and the ESX Server host, memory management, license alternatives (Enterprise vs. Standard), the role of connection broker in HA, hardware platform selection and cost models for these designs.
