Using VDI for Disaster Recovery of Remote User LaptopsPresenter:
Foster's GroupFoster's Group is a premium global multi-beverage company, well known for such brands as Foster's Lager and Beringer Wines. This session will review how Foster's EMEA 3-member IT staff simplified and automated the IT infrastructure of its European operations through virtualization, with specific emphasis on establishing a disaster-tolerant infrastructure for not only its data center operations, but also for the laptops of Foster's largely mobile, multi-country European workforce.
We'll give details on how the IT staff is able to create live backup images of remote laptops that have the ability to be mounted and accessed as virtual machines in the case of a failure or disaster. The design and implementation of the virtualized infrastructure will be highlighted with a focus on the gains achieved in IT productivity and the cost savings that provide the IT staff the time and energy to create new applications to meet the needs of their distributed and mobile workforce.
