Session Title: | Advanced Data Protection with NetBackup for VMware, an Award Winning Combination. |
Session Abstract: | The benefits of virtualization in the enterprise are clear, but what is the best way to protect your virtual systems? The ability to successfully backup and protect both your physical and virtual environment is certainly important. But the real key to your data protection strategy is to ensure that your backup solution provides multiple and flexible restore capabilities. Attend this session to learn why NetBackup for VMware was awarded best in show for data protection at VMworld 2007. In combination with the VMware Consolidated Backup (VCB) off host backup technology, NetBackup for VMware delivers both backup performance and restore flexibility unequaled in the market today. We will discuss and provide a live demonstration of how NetBackup provides granular file restores from a single (vmdk) image backup. We will also discuss suggested uses and performance impact of other NetBackup for VMware technologies, including incremental VCB backups (new in NBU 6.5.2), synthetic backups, deduplication and simplified VM restores. |
