Session Abstract: | This session examines how WebSphere Family products (Application Server, Process Server, Portal Server, etc) can be used in conjunction with VMware to simplify common scenarios, from development through production. We'll look at how to use the new WebSphere Application Server V7 and WebSphere Portal V6.1 beta VMware images as well as how to build your own VMware images. We'll also provide several case studies of successful use of VMware in both development and production. Performance best practices and deployment tips and techniques will be provided. |

Prior to this assignment, Ruth was the manager of the WebSphere Performance team responsible for WebSphere Application Server performance analysis, performance benchmarking and performance tool development. Speaker 2: | Brian Martin is a Senior Technical Staff Member and Lead Architect of WebSphere Virtual Enterprise. As one of the original engineers on the WebSphere Application Server, Brian lead the development of classloaders, caching, and other runtime services. Brian holds fifteen US patents and has another 20 patents pending with the patent office. Brian received a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering from Virginia Tech in 1991. |
