Session Abstract:

VMware is the preferred server virtualization platform of choice in many enterprises, including the support for Tier 1 application environments. EMC Symmetrix is the number one enterprise storage platform for the world's most demanding customers.
As the number and size of business and mission critical deployments increase, new requirements and solutions are emerging in support of VMware with enterprise storage platforms. This session will discuss the storage requirements necessary for consolidating and scaling a VMware environment including capacity, performance, business continuity, and management. Techniques and best practices when deploying an enterprise storage platform will be described.

Peter Conway is Vice President, Symmetrix Product Group, Business and Product Operations at EMC Corporation. With 2007 revenues of $13.2 billion and more than 38,000 employees worldwide, EMC is the world leader in products, services, and solutions for information management and storage that help organizations extract the maximum value from their information, at the lowest total cost, at every point in the information lifecycle.
Conway is responsible for ensuring optimal business readiness and highly positive customer experience for EMC's flagship information storage product. In this capacity, he leads the Symmetrix Product Management, Program Management, Business Operations, and Strategic Business Development teams. He reports to Brian Gallagher, Senior Vice President, Symmetrix Engineering, and is based at EMC headquarters in Hopkinton, Massachusetts.
Previously, Conway held a number of senior management positions in EMC's software division. Most recently, Pete was Vice President, Program Management and Advanced Business Development in the Resource Management Software Group, where he led the selection and execution of EMC
