Global IT decentralization delivers IT Capacity on demand with VMware

This session will review the Harley Davidson Global IT Decentralization initiative that consolidated several global data centers down to 2 data centers in Milwaukee, WI. We will demonstrate how VMware is a core infrastructure in the provision of Windows IT server and desktop resource capacity on demand to the Harley Davidson workforce in the form of a measurable utility. We also will highlight how VMware is requested, deployed, recorded and funded by the individual Harley business units.
Our goal is to deliver a presentation that demonstrates how VMware solutions including (VDI, VI3 — ESX, DRS, HA, VMOTION, VCB and SRM) have enabled Harley to centralize their IT assets, and deliver an IT utility service on demand that drives efficiencies and cost savings at Harley Davidson.

Rick has a Bachelor Degree in Business from Cardinal Stritch University and a Masters Degree in Computer Science from the University of Phoenix. Both campuses are located in the Milwaukee Area.
Rick has been in the Computer Industry in some form or another for the past 31 years. At Harley-Davidson Rick has held the positions of Desktop Support — Engineering, Network Lead — Engineering, and his current role as Computer Support Specialist Senior. He has 3+ years experience with VMware and has his VCP, MCSE, CCNA certifications.
In his spare time Rick enjoys playing with technology, developing applications, and spending time with family and friends.

Rob Codo is a VMware TAM located in Milwaukee, WI. Rob holds an AA in CIS from Devry, and also a BS in CIS from Regis University, both located in Denver, CO. He has over 20 years in the industry in NOC admin, software sales and Technical Account Management with Hewlett Packard and Microsoft before coming to VMware.
