Leveraging Application Virtualization in Pharmaceutical Environments

Application virtualization brings many benefits to all organizations: Freedom from application regression and conflict testing, streamlined application lifecycle management, augmented business continuity/disaster recovery options and the ability to deploy applications and new versions of existing applications to users more quickly and efficiently.
Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology companies are bound by strict guidelines surrounding desktop validation and compliance. Applications commonly fall out of phase with vendor release cycles because of the extensive effort required to properly regression test and deploy new applications or updates.
Application virtualization presents a new solution to these long-time challenges and enables organizations bound by regulatory constraints to streamline application lifecycle management and the process distributing and maintaining applications in a validated environment.
This session will introduce Pharmaceutical and Biotechnical IT personnel to the concept of virtual applications and decoupling the dependency of the operating system and the installed applications. The intention is to provide attendees with insight into the application virtualization technologies and to gain a comfort level with the concepts of introducing an application virtualization solution into the environment to run validated applications and services while remaining in compliance.

-Three to four years extensive experience in the global architecture and design of application deployment and streaming environment leveraging Microsoft SoftGrid, as well as sequencing applications
-Several years Compliance experience in qualifying and validating VMware Infrastructure the Pharmaceutical industry
-Former Solutions Architect of Foedus Group, LLC;
