Session Title:

Virtualization of Microsoft Exchange Server

Session Abstract:

Improvements in the architecture of Microsoft Exchange Server from 2003 to 2007 have resulted in a workload that is ideally suited to VMware Infrastructure 3. Similarly, improvements to ESX Server 3.5 have enhanced its ability to virtualize the most demanding workloads such as Exchange Server 2007 with flawless results.
This presentation will cover the features of VI3 which make it an ideal environment for Exchange Server. Detail will be provided on experimental work in evaluating Exchange performance on VI3 that has been performed at a variety of VMware's partners (HP, EMC, NetApp, and more.) This will include single VM performance results, multi-VM scaling performance, and best practices for construction and evaluation of virtual Exchange environments.
