Session Title:

VMWare @ PBZ (Bank of INTESA SANPAOLO Group) x86 servers consolidation in banking using HA and Disaster Recovery over two data centers

Session Abstract:

Business Case:
PBZ, a second largest bank in Croatia, member of INTESA SANPAOLO group, has over 200 x86 servers for Windows and Linux platform. Off course every year this number is increased at least 20%. Most of them are utilized only 3-5% and do not have a good business continuity solution. Server delivery is slow (takes months) and different hardware vendors represents technical risk and maintenance complication. The last, but not least, we are the Bank: secure, traditional and conservative environment.
Solution:
PBZ has been implemented Vmware system with ESX 3.0 Enterprise Servers on HP Blade class-C hardware and EMC DMX-3 disks on two data center sites. Everything that can be obtained with VMWare ESX to create secure, load balanced and disaster recovery aware solution has been implemented in our case.
Does it really work? Join us on our presentation and you will see.
