Session Title:

vCenter Site Recovery Manager - Implementation Common Pitfalls and Best Practices

Session Abstract:

In this session, attendees will start of with a quick intro to how Site Recovery Manager (SRM) can provide enhanced disaster recovery operations through automation during setup, testing and failover.
The sessions main focus will then be to review the most important lessons that have been learned in the field during the products lifespan.
Lessons learnt will hopefully help attendees remove some of the "how do i?", "so what does this mean?" and "will this work?" kind of road blocks that can determine the success of an SRM eval / proof of concept or even production deployment.
We will focus on tips for configuring storage replication with SRM, common pitfalls with storage adapter integration, simple guide to the importance of storage design, considerations for inventory mapping, better understanding of SRM license consumption, working with and customizing recovery plans, using test VLANs at the recovery site VS the SRM bubble network and finally a look at how the batch-tool in SRM U1 functions.
A similar layout was delivered in Vegas however SRM has moved on since then and with some fresh updates this should prove to be another popular session.
