Session Title:

Storage Best Practices for Scaling Virtualization Deployments

Session Abstract:

Every environment has a boundary of conditions which determines the probability of pending issues or optimal performance. Operating within defined boundaries will help to ensure high availability of service, ease of management, predictable performance and the ability to scale as required by businesses demands.
As over 90% of Virtual Machines are located on SAN-based Datastores, understanding operational boundaries for optimal performance in a SAN and Virtual Infrastructure is critical for business continuity. This session will explore the four topics of
1) more efficient VMFS meta data management, 2) Increased limits for number of NFS mount-points, 3) Improved efficiency of iSCSI SW initiator and 4) more optimal throughput and failover with multipath pluggable storage architecture
