Session Title:

Best Practices for Successful VI Design

Session Abstract:

Successful virtualization deployments rely on a solid design of the underlying infrastructure and components. While there are a number of different ways to design and deploy a virtualization solution, poor design up front will lead to difficult and time consuming re-engineering later when the environment is "in production". In this session, field-tested virtual infrastructure design best practices are discussed which provide a solid architecture for reliable and scalable deployments. Specific areas of focus will include:
*ESX/ESXi server hardware at the component level
*physical and virtual network architecture and their interdependencies
*shared storage component, platform, and architecture considerations
*vCenter Server and collaborative services considerations and guidelines
